About Antony
Antony Varghese, widely known by his screen name Pepe, is a prominent Indian actor who has carved out a unique niche in Malayalam cinema as a leading face of raw, high-octane action thrillers. Born on October 11, 1989, in Angamaly, Kerala, he made an explosive debut in Lijo Jose Pellissery’s critically acclaimed blockbuster Angamaly Diaries (2017). His portrayal of the intense protagonist Vincent Pepe was so impactful that the moniker stuck with him permanently. He quickly solidified his reputation for gritty, physical performances by starring in hard-hitting action dramas like Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil (2018) and the fiercely chaotic Jallikattu (2019), the latter of which became India's official entry for the 93rd Academy Awards. Known for choosing distinct, character-driven scripts that push structural boundaries, Antony has consistently balanced raw violence with emotional depth. He delivered major commercial successes with projects like the campus action-drama Ajagajantharam (2021) and the high-energy action-comedy blockbuster RDX: Robert Dony Xavier (2023), which further elevated his stardom across South India. Expanding his filmography with diverse roles in movies like Kondal and the intense cartel drama Kattalan, he continues to be one of the most bankable and physically dynamic young stars working in the industry today.
