About Arvind

Arvind Swamy was born in Chennai, India, to V. D. Swami and Vasantha Swami. His father was a freedom fighter and industrialist, while his mother was a skilled Bharatanatyam dancer. Arvind completed his schooling at Sishya School and Don Bosco School in Chennai, pursued his undergraduate studies at Loyola College, and later earned his Master’s degree from Wake Forest University in North Carolina. He made his acting debut in Mani Ratnam’s Thalapathi and went on to star in several acclaimed films, including Roja, Bombay, Minsara Kanavu, Devaragam, Puthayal, En Swasa Katre, and Alaipayuthey. Despite his success, numerous awards, and strong critical appreciation, Arvind stepped away from the film industry in 2000 to focus on his business ventures and family life. He served as President of InterPro Global and currently chairs Talent Maximus, a leading Indian company specializing in payroll processing, staffing, and HR services. In 2012, Arvind returned to cinema with Mani Ratnam’s Kadal, which was still in production at the time.
