Jayasurya is a prominent Indian actor, producer, and playback singer who primarily works in Malayalam cinema. Born as Jayan Maradu on August 31, 1978, in Tripunithura, Kochi, he began his career as a mimicry artist and television host before transitioning to films. He made his debut as a lead actor in the 2002 film Oomappenninu Uriyadappayyan, where his portrayal of a mute character earned him significant recognition. Over the years, he has appeared in more than 100 films, evolving from a comic and character actor into one of the industry's most versatile performers. He is widely acclaimed for his dedication to diverse roles, winning several prestigious awards including a National Film Award (Special Mention) and multiple Kerala State Film Awards for Best Actor for his work in films like Captain, Njan Marykutty, and Vellam. Beyond acting, he established himself as a producer with Punyalan Agarbattis and has contributed as a playback singer to several projects.
