K. R. Gokul is an Indian actor primarily working in the Malayalam film industry, who successfully secured the pivotal role of Hakim through an audition process around 2017, having previously been involved in theatre. For his debut in a major film, he underwent a drastic and challenging physical transformation, initially gaining weight to 64 kg and then drastically reducing it to 44 kg for the latter part of the desert ordeal, a process he undertook with inspiration from Christian Bale's transformation in The Machinist. Gokul, who hails from Kozhikode, was around 18 years old when he was cast and grew alongside the film's long production schedule, also assisting on the sets in Jordan. His performance as Hakim, who serves as a ray of hope for Najeeb, has been widely acclaimed.
