About Kalyani
Kalyani began her film journey in 2013 as an assistant production designer on Krrish 3, later working as an assistant art director for the Tamil film Iru Mugan (2016). She made her acting debut in 2017 with the Telugu film Hello opposite Akhil Akkineni. Though the film performed below average, critics praised her screen presence and chemistry, earning her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut – South. In 2019, she appeared in Chitralahari, Ranarangam, and Hero. While Chitralahari became a commercial success and highlighted her gentle, endearing performance, the other two films did not fare well. Kalyani made her Malayalam debut in 2020 with Varane Avashyamund opposite Dulquer Salmaan. Her effortless performance was widely appreciated, and the film became one of the year’s biggest hits, earning her the SIIMA Award for Best Female Debut – Malayalam. She later played the younger version of Urvashi’s character in the Tamil anthology Putham Pudhu Kaalai, receiving praise for her smooth, natural portrayal across timelines.
