Manju Warrier, born on 10 September 1978 in Nagercoil, Tamil Nadu, is one of the most acclaimed and influential actresses in Malayalam cinema. Raised in a middle-class family with roots in Kerala, she developed a passion for the arts early in life, excelling particularly in dance and winning the prestigious Kalathilakam title twice at the Kerala School Youth Festival. She made her film debut in 1995 with Sakshyam and quickly became a leading star with memorable performances in films such as Sallapam, Ee Puzhayum Kadannu, Aaraam Thampuran, and Summer in Bethlehem. In 1998, Manju stepped away from films after her marriage to fellow actor Dileep, putting her flourishing career on hold for more than a decade. Her return to the screen in 2014 with How Old Are You marked one of the most celebrated comebacks in Malayalam film history. The film’s success reestablished her as a powerful performer, and she went on to deliver acclaimed roles in movies like Ennum Eppozhum, Udaharanam Sujatha, Aami, Lucifer, and Asuran, showcasing her versatility and enduring screen presence.
