Pierre Coffin is a French animator, director, and voice actor best known as the co-creator and co-director of the Despicable Me film series and for providing the iconic voices of the Minions. Born on March 16, 1967, in France to an Indonesian father and French mother, he trained in animation at the Gobelins school in Paris. Coffin began his career working in commercials and short films before joining Illumination Entertainment, where he helped develop the quirky, energetic Minion characters that became a global phenomenon. His imaginative storytelling, playful visual style, and distinctive vocal work have made him a key figure in modern animated filmmaking.
